INTERNATIONAL BENCHMARKING STUDY: TURKEY IN 2004

Objective: International Benchmarking Study aims to measure Turkey’s competitiveness via various macroeconomic and structural indicators and how well she performs against other countries. By pointing out to the best values achieved in OECD countries, the report suggests target values for Turkey.

Scope: The report begins with a comparison of national income per capita and its two determinants, productivity and employment data across OECD countries. Following these sections are the analysis and the comparison of determinants of competitiveness that fall under the headings of macroeconomic environment, science, technology and innovation, and entrepreneurship and competition.

Current Status: Following the feedback received for the draft reports of February 2005 and April 2005, the final report has been published online on June 2005 at the Competitiveness Forum website (in Turkish).
