INNOVATION MODELS AND IMPLEMENTATIONS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY 2006/07

Objective: The general objective of the project is; making a research on one of the important components of today shaping the current and future economic structure, namely,”innovation”. The project will include both conceptual and theoretical dimensions of innovation and will include field studies. It is predicted that the results of the project will contribute to develop innovation strategies and policies of Turkey.

Scope: The study includes textiles, chemicals and chemical products, fabricated metal products, machinery, domestic appliances sectors and the automotive industry and will cover Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli provinces, where a high percentage of the industrial added value of Turkey is generated.

Partners: REF, Sabancı University, Gebze Institute of Technology, Yeditepe University and SEDEFED (Federation of Industrial Associations).

Current Status: The project is supported through TUBITAK as a research project in December 2005. The project has been initiated on January 1, 2006 and finished on December 31, 2007.
